The ReIMAGINE Mack Road Foundation (RMRF) is a 501(c)3 and was created in late 2013.
This initiative was driven by a Board of Directors made up of forward-thinking leaders from the Valley Hi/Mack Road community. The RMRF’s mission is to:

Since its launch, the RMRF has been dedicated to community health, food access, business and job growth and creating a sustainable environment for community engagement. In 2013, our first year, the RMRF raised $260,000 and launched a series of programs designed to create community and hope in an area long absent of both. These programs included the renovation of a vacant structure and 3 acre parcel into a community center, Sacramento Summer Night Lights (click here to watch the video), Farmers Market, and the largest community service project ever seen in South Sacramento — ReIMAGINE Mack Road (click here to watch the video).
Our efforts were successful and in the years following the launch, we have been able to fund and grow all of the programs and add more! Our outdoor community center space, once an empty lot, now houses 2 regulation sized basketball courts, a playground, an AYSO soccer pitch, an obstacle course and plenty of outdoor shaded seating. Our indoor programing continues to grow and we now offer classical and hip-hop dance classes, chess club, homework club, drawing and cartooning classes, story time, bicycle racing and maintenance clinics, a free mobile clinic on site one day a week, Soccer for Success and much more!
But we’re not done yet! We have big plans and we need your help to see them through!

In 2016, we increased the size of our farmers market and have begun work on an on-site urban farm on which to grow food to be sold at the market. We envision a program that would create jobs for local youth by making them farm and farm stand managers. Sacramento is the “Farm to Fork” leader in California, but many of our community members do not have access to fresh food nor do they understand where their food comes from. By engaging our youth in planting, harvesting and maintaining the Orchard at our Community Center and ultimately selling fresh fruits and vegetables at our local farmers market, we are teaching healthy eating habits and teach our participants how a business runs. They will be “shareholders” in the farm and earn a portion of the profits as a dividend. By working in the soil and getting dirty, youth and young adults begin to understand where their food comes from and the commerce behind getting it to the table.
