The Leadership Sacramento 2021 class was created with a compassionate spirit and a lofty objective: to make a sustainable, long-lasting and notable impact in the lives of our region’s most vulnerable residents. In the choosing of ReIMAGINE Mack Road Foundation (RMRF) as this year’s class project beneficiary, LS21 sought to merge the program’s goals of civic engagement to RMRF’s dedication to community engagement.

Together, in partnership with project sponsors and potential donors, LS21’s goal is to deliver on renovating and enhancing the Mack Road Valley Hi Community Center which serves as a safe haven for at-risk youth and families living in under-served neighborhoods of Mack Road, Valley Hi, and Center Parkway in South Sacramento.

With your help, we will be able to succeed in our efforts to accomplish the following for the Mack Road Valley Hi Community Center and the children the center helps support:

  • Purchase and install security cameras to foster a safe space for the community.
  • Create new raised garden beds to improve access for those with disabilities or mobility issues, including youth and older adults.
  • Create paths in garden area that are more accessible for those with mobility issues.
  • Improve lighting for safe nighttime activities.
  • Create an area for quiet mediation and reflection with a water feature.
  • Remove dead trees to expand and improve usable outdoor space.
  • Build a performing arts stage to provide an outlet for artistic expression.
